Washi Paper QuiltingThis is a featured page

Quilted Pear Made With Washi Paper QuiltingWashi Paper Quilting is a Japanese technique in which quilted shapes are made using beautiful, hand made Washi papers. The technique is based on the traditional Japanese doll making technique.

Washi Paper Quilting designs are made by wrapping Washi paper around shaped pieces of card stock covered with quilting foam.

The quilted pear card to the left was made with two quilted shapes for the pear, and a third quilted shape, the small green square to the top left. Layered card stock, fine gold ribbon and a stem of purple card stock complete the card.

Washi Paper Quilting Kits can sometimes be purchased at craft stores, or ordered online from Hanko Designs
