Time-saving TipsThis is a featured page

Try to think ahead before you go to a crop night. By doing this, you can try to only bring things you think you'll use. If you wait un til you get there, you'll have ALL your pictures and TONS of supplies. You will spend too much time finding what you need.

Technique Shortcuts

Take Notes!
I keep a small journal-like notebook always nearby. When i watch online videos, TV shows, or read something in a magazine, i make a quick note and sometimes draw a quick diagram so I'll remember to use the technique i learned. I try to divide the notebook a little to keep like-ideas together. I also tear out or use a sticky flag to mark the pages of books or magazines.

Torn Edges
To create the "torn" edges on a scrapbook paper just take a Q-tip, run it under water and rub it up and down on your paper. This way you can control the way it will look. Just plain tearing can mess up your design.

Nightcats Alter StoreBought Christmas Cards 0 Dec 6 2009, 2:04 PM EST by Nightcats

Instead of making Christmas cards from scratch, I bought a box of Christmas cards from the Dollar Store. You could also use recycled cards from last year. I covered the front with my own design, and placed decorative paper with a stamped message inside to cover the card's original message. This saves considerable time and is more economical than buying card stock. Also, the cards come with envelopes so there is no need to scrounge around trying to find an envie that fits.

Scrapbooking kits are great time savers when you need to put an album together fast, or if you're just plain too busy to do all your matching from scratch. Typical kits contain the album, papers and embellishments suck as matching stickers, alphabets, fibers. etc. This link leads to a video demonstration of a scrapbook album assembled with a kit.

Working Moms can utilize the company conference room periodically for lunchtime scrapping. Ours is only used 4 to 5 times a month and there are nice large tables. I bring my lunch , my rolling tote and a small project. Over lunch I might organize photos, arrange and sketch out pages or mat photos for later use. Sometimes I just bring in a few scrapbook magazines and jot down notes in my scrapbook journal for use on future pages. This is a great way to get in some extra scrapbook time
