Shaker Boxes or Windows
Definition:
Dimensional page accent that holds loose beads, confetti, or other tiny embellishments behind a transparent window. Talk about this fun element--click EasyEdit to add to this page. Not sure where to start? Ask a question. |
Shakers are a great way to house dimensional stuff like confetti or sand from the beach, but you don't have to make them bulky. You can use anything small that will fit inside the window or box you create, but on the project below, I used a flower punch, 3M transparency, patterned paper, card stock, stamp and a brad.
I wanted to create a fun and unique birthday card. By "sandwiching" 2 pieces of transparencies together I was able to create a window of flowers.
Punch out flowers from patterned paper. If possible, use double sided patterned paper and use both sides to add more variation. Lay the flowers onto sheet of transparency. Sandwich flowers by attaching another sheet of transparency to the top of flowers. This creates a window. Cut out center of your card. Lay window over opening of card. Attach patterned paper frame to top of card. You will be covering the edges of the window. Stamp saying onto patterned paper and and attach with a brad.

I love it. I'm going to try it as soon as I get my Thanksgiving Kitchen cleaned up. You are so talented.
