If you wish your layouts to be successful, the right combination of papers is very important to create visual interest and appeal. Many papers can work together as long as the larger designs are in small doses. Scale is important and if all the papers have large images they are probably going to conflict. If the papers have the same background hue they will most likely work together. What is hue? A particular color or shade of color. Try to match the colors in your photos with the paper. And I have a big problem with the weight of paper. I stay away from the really light weight scrapbooking papers. I find they are harder to work with, there is more chance of ripping the paper and I personally think the lighter weight papers often look cheap. Just my personal opinion. If I am going to put in all this time to create, I want to make sure that the paper is still intact a hundred years from now.
