Scrapbooking Paper - Scrapbooks

There are several types of paper to choose from. There's:

1- Standard Cardstock: Hundreds of colors
2- Patterened paper
3- Vellium - translucent paper
4- Textured Paper
5- Mulberry Paper - This has an organic look. It's soft and when it's torn it has a beautiful effect.
6- Parchment Paper - It's made from the skins of goats, sheep or cow.

What I like to do
I generally pick out 3 papers to create a scrapbook page.
Embellishments Sticker Background Paper Background Paper

Project
  • One for the background page,
  • 1 for the accent and possibly a
  • third color to matt your photos or mat your stickers and other embellishments.

When you use these 3 papers it makes the whole scrapbook page cohesive. Click here to enlarge the project and to see how I created it.

What kind of paper can you stencil on?
You can stencil on any scrapbook paper. IF you want to take sandpaper and Sanded Mickey's Facesand the image you dry embossed then you need to pick paper that has a white core.core. All papers have a white core EXCEPT cardstock. To see if your paper has a white center just make a small tear. If you see white then you're in the clear.

Design Tip
If your not sure what color papers you would use look at what stickers you want to use for that layout and choose them that way. You can even look at your photographs and choose colors that way. You can't go wrong.
