Pergamano Parchment Craft originated in the Netherlands. It's highly popular in Europe and recently is gaining in popularity in North America. Pergamano is the trade name and "parchment craft" is the craft. Pergamano involves tracing designs on parchment paper, then using embossing tools, stippling tools and perforating tools to enhance the design. Color can be added as well. Pergamano parchment craft is an elegant and lovely thing to behold. Highly skilled crafters create beautiful works of art, suitable for framing or other uses. However, even beginners can produce highly attractive small pieces, suitable for cards, scrapbook embellishments, gift tags, additions to journals and altered books, etc.

Although traditional Pergamano designs are traced with a nib pen dipped in Tinta ink, rubber stampers have found a somewhat faster way to produce great looking designs.
