| Scrapbook shaker boxes are decorative, scrapbooking elements that contain loose items that roll around when shaken. Professional scrapartists say that these boxes encourage the user to interact with the layout. Shaker boxes are usually made with card stock, clear acetate (often cut from a page protector), mounting tape and items small enough to move around freely within the box. The shaker box may be decorated or styled in any shape to work with the layout. Although most shaker boxes as rectangular or square, it is possible to add organic shapes by forming the shaker box carefully, or by cutting a shape in a piece of card stock that will then form the top of the box. Typical items found in a shaker box include tiny beads, confetti, sequins, sand, crushed seashells or other similar items.
