How to Make a Cigar Box Purse

Cigar box purses are good examples of putting scrapbook supplies to use to create works of altered art. A cigar box purse can be made using an authentic cigar box, or it can be made using a purchased wooden box such as those sold at Michaels and at other craft stores.

The crafter decorates the cigar box with paint, scrapbook paper, stamped images and various other embellishments.

Cigar box purses can be used as decorative art or as functional storage units. Some scrapbookers carry them as purses.
